Va ser construït, en tres fases, entre 1901 i 1908. Primer es van construir els dos cossos laterals -coneguts com els xalets- i després el cos central que els uneix. A la planta baixa hi havien els espais comuns, menjador, sala d'estar i billar, àmbits de doble alçada profusament ornamentats amb vitralls, ceràmica vidriada, terres hidràulics i un remarcable treball de fusteria, obra l'ebenista Josep Prat. Destaquen les làmpades monumentals, -d'estil déco-, produïdes per la casa Santamaria. A les plantes superiors hi havia les habitacions i sales de banys, comunicades a través de galeries obertes al jardí, que conserven en bona part el mobiliari original. Pel que fa a l'exterior, tot ell de maó vist, destaca el treball escultòric de la pedra, amb relleus de tipus floral al voltant de les obertures, i els plafons ceràmics de Lluís Bru.
